Made an appointment, asked roughly what it would cost for a general checkup and scale and clean and was quoted around $160 (without insurance). Attended the appointment, had the scale and clean and when it was time to pay, was told it came to over $300! At no point during the consultation was I told that the two x-rays they took or the 'fluoride treatment' were added extras or optional. Ended up agreeing on a fee between the two. So, I've learnt today that when walking into a dental surgery, that it seems you need to be familiar with every add-on they provide and explicitly throughout the consultation tell them what you do and don't want done... Yes, I have nice clean teeth and an idea of what work needs to be done in the future so thank you for that, but was really not expecting to be taken advantage of and ended up being very disappointed and ripped off.
